so many groups today @Mossy forest.... people arrived as earli as 700 a.m.... saw few hikers gathered stil @wooden stairs entrance, queued for their turn....  (later, informed that most of them do not have permit to venture this Mossy forest) found out quite hard to parking with so many cars.... mat rudy skilled as ever, settled that parking issue by the edge of the road... other climbers greeted us while walking to the entrance... some even asking about possible extra permit we have... luckili, thanx to aziah who managed to settle all that documentation before coming here today....

after document checking done, our group were cleared to enter Mossy forest... saw that some stil bargaining with the authorities ... piti them.... our group of 14 hikers for this mission are; mat rudy, mat yie, zul, soki, amal, tok wan aziah, mok nik nenny, czer, hila, sidah, yani, siti, a'an 12 yrs n danish 8 yrs  (nenny sons) n sofiyah 9 yrs (czer daughter)....

started climbing stairs for about 10 minutes... there are some rest huts suitable for hikers to stop, to rest a while for sceneriy... (i don't know if we stil need permit just to come to this huts...). some groups joyfuli taking pictures n 'selfieing'... her! her! about 30 minutes later, saw signboards jungle walk 14 (JW14) which tells distances to mount Irau.....

reached first stop @mini Irau (6666 ft).... mat rudi n mat yi alreadi there.... ten minutes later, all kid arrived with their nannies of the day.....sidah n hila... then, had nice eating time n refreshments.... nasi berlauk ikan aya aka tongkol (mackerel tuna).... took rest for almost an hour....

continued hiking from mini Irau..... following signboard on log to Irau.... her! her! after sometime, saw check point bonsai 2.... from here, followed misti trail to the peak.... some of us joked 'like lord of the rings film' sceneri.... quite hideous trees look like though , especiali if walking alone....

it was nearli an hour hike from mini Irau to peak Irau.... saw signboard hanging by a tree.... last time hiking here in 2014, the board had its own iron stand poles.... signboard says the trails was 2.35 km from Mossy gate to the peak.... but, my strava suggested 2.5 km.... many groups had arrived earlier.... some were cooking, resting, drinking n eating.... while waiting for remaining group members .... our chef quickli rummaging his bag pack  n asking for additional water to make hot nescafee.... n cooking.... as well... we had roti cicah ayam kurma for lunch... mat yi found nice cool spot away from the sun... lying there was quite blissful.... with full stomach.... buuuurppp! some other time in the future maybe, should have one nite camp on this peak.... must be amazing sleeping in foggi mist under stars above....her! her!

took group pictures before going back to Brinchang... mat rudy won the nomination to be the child minder all the way down to the gate..... so that, their mothers will have 'girl time thing' moments together...har! har!......

arrived @Mossy... waited @one hut for the mums, they stil spending their time together-gether.... her! her! after sometime, it starting to drizzle... here comes cold wind.... even though the kid still could persist such temperature, we blanketed them, plus showing them how to keep body warm..... such a lesson unteach nowadays........ by 1752, all had arrived..... after saying goodbye, went home seperateli..... some of us stil linger in cameron for another day.......

arrived @rose house dabong (rest house called rose house)..... abe din the manager welcomed us with big smiles..... we met earlier when we were booking n discussing about renting the house.... abe din booked all the meals for us.... later, had short updates with all the facilitators @ instructors on everything arranged months earlier.... for first timers.... we had quick sessions on how using tents, camping stove n lamp.... there were suggestions how to pack things up....... looks like everione was excited for the hike.... hmmm.... her! her!

arrived by bus @Taman Negeri Gunung Stong (Stong state park).... all 42 members plus fasis look alive and excited.... her! her! readi to concur 3 peaks.... in 3 days n 2 nites camping.... never reveal the truth about baha camp which supposedli, onli an hour hike from here... her! her! (actuali, we took nearli 3 hours getting there...) need to pay rm5/ person for permit to dwell in this park.... plus rm3/person per entri for campsite...... our guide, mr odi (later introduced as son of baha camp founder) briefed us about trek n routes to baha camp... then the reali 'breath taking' hike begins.....
 

after 10 minutes walking.... saw quite old canopi walk..... was told earlier we would take this route.... another trail leads to stong waterfall took longer times... right after crossing eerie canopi walk, which require us to reali-reali concentrate.... the climb comes... there were several spots we need to climb using roots and alreadi tied ropes.... big group such us, requires several times 'take five plus five' breaks.... there were lots of 'if this' n 'if that' subjects in everi stepping.... mostli about not training enough as preparation for this climb.... her! her! mat salihin acted like he wanted to flat out, onli his smiles before falling gives the joke away...

as long as everione still jokes around after 2 hours ascending, we got notting to worri about...  reali glad when some of earli arrival @baha camp came down to support staggered gang members, helping bringing bag pack and etcetra... with this action alone, program objectives have been accomplished even though baha camps stil hours away....

reached kem baha.... found a nice spot by the river.... mat rudy quickli laid down his rucksack n start cooking... others supplied ingredients needed... due to excellent cooking, we appointed him for all next cooking event turns.... tetap n berpencen....her! her! har! har! retired earli this evening... before that, still manage to have tea @baha rocki edge.....

pok nik fakarudin led to read prayer before peak group departs...... azmir n mat salihin will lead camp group @baha camp..... they will undergo water qualiti module.... n exploring of course.... we started hiking towards baha peak..... trail ascending rapidli.... we managed to utilized yesterday 'take five plus five' breaks lesson perfectli.... n here comes the 'ifs' topic again.... har! har! har! an hour later, we reached sungai rantai.... need to take 'long' short break..... then continued hiking for another hour.... until sungai baha.... all groups had lunch.... some took the opportuniti to dunk into nice cold water.... har! har!

after lunch @baha river

later, hiking again....to baha peak... found out shamsul had dislocated his ankle while jumping down logs.... at first look... could see swollen ankle (medial malleolus point)... we performed first aid, pressed the instant cold ice pack.... n wrapped in using bandage.... after sometime, shamsul told us he could begin to walk slowli.... mat rudy volunteered to carri extra bag pack.... after that, it was a slow pace hike towards the peak.... from here, the trail starting to ascend.... to match shamsul leg injuri, rear team took slow hike, plus many stopping time, in order to rejuvenate our friend....took us rear team 3 hours to reach baha peak... stil had much fun teasing around though.... her! her! always remember, lessons are learnt, characters are developed during the process....continued our journey after taking photos.....

from baha peak, hike another hour to reach last water point (normal hike 20 to 30 minutes).... the trail begin to decline.... for those with sprained ankle though, the walk is stil a torture.... stop @water point, starting to rest n cook dinner.... used 5 stoves to cook simultaneousli (coffee, tea, rice, salted fish, n the menu of the day was masak lemak ikan talang with pineapples.... everione was so famished, that nobodi ate onli single plate.... her! her! some of us took the opportuniti to wash up.... fill in all empti bottles.... after resting for more than 2 hours, moved again after finishing prayer....

 

 

2100:
 

hiking by using the headlights..... roots trail could be veri dangerous @nite..... half an hour later, heard voice n laughter from ayam peak.... knew that the campsite was not veri far away..... finali, we reached puncak ayam...... stil need to walk another 400 m to the campsite.... earli arrival stil chatting with each other after meal.... after exchanged greeting n update news as well as events..... found a spot to rest....... it was drizzle like misti fog on peak ayam..... without tent, will be veri cold n wet..... so, we erected tents.... boiled water for coffee n having snacks....  with that, the journey of the day completed, plus nice closing with a sound sleeps..... her! her!

our chef mat rudy cooked arab bread n rice for breakfast.... scrambled eggs, chicken curri n sardines...... could remember him stil mumbling about 'not enough batteri from eating instant noodles'..... her! her! after checking shamsul ankle, to make sure that the bandage stil  firm on place, we packed n getting readi to move to stong peak.... stop by ayam peak to take group photos.....

then, the last mission to concur stong peak continued...... took us rear team nearli 5 hours hike to reach ayam peak.......
